Obituary of WILLIAM E. FITES

Life Legacy William E. "Bill" Fites, 89, of Winamac, IN went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016. He passed away unexpectedly. Bill was born November 26, 1926 in Winamac to the late Ike and Blanche Fites. He was a graduate of Winamac High School. Bill served in the US Army and was stationed in Korea during WWII. He was a life member of the VFW. Bill was retired from Galbreath and had previously worked at Shepard's Chevrolet and Jim Dobson Ford as a parts manager. Bill was the former owner of the B & B Inn in Beardstown and had also been a part-time rural mail carrier. Bill served on the Winamac Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Bill enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed. Survivors include: Lois (George) Reynolds, Winamac, IN Daughter Carolyn (Chuck) Redlin, Winamac, IN Daughter Marilyn Rose, Marion, IN Daughter Steven (Minner) Fites, Winamac, IN Son Nancy (Mike) Abraham, Wanatah, IN Daughter 10 Grandchildren 7 Great Grandchildren Preceded in death by: Dwight "Ike" Fites, Father Blanche Baker Fites, Mother Don Fites, Brother Jeanette Ginder, Sister Lois Mae James, Sister Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM EDT Friday, June 17, 2016, at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, IN with Rev. Edward Clark officiating. Burial will take place in Winamac Cemetery, Winamac, IN. The American Legion and VFW will conduct Military Graveside Services. Visitation will be from 11 AM EDT - 2 PM EDT Friday, June 17, 2016 at Frain Mortuary. Memorial Contributions may be given to Pulaski Animal Center or American Heart Association.
