Josie M. Smith, 81, of Winamac, IN passed away Saturday, October 8, 2016 at
Porter Regional Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. Josie was born on June 25, 1935 in
Marmaduke, AR to the late Homer and Ruby Frost Jarvis. She was a graduate of
Mishawaka High School. She studied at Olivet Nazarene College and went on to
obtain a Bachelor?s Degree from Indiana University South Bend. On October
20, 1956, she married the love of her life, Harold L. Smith, in Mishawaka, IN.
Josie was a former employee of McGill?s in Culver, IN and Monticello, IN.
Josie had been an active member of the Winamac Church of the Nazarene, where
she had been involved with the children?s ministry through Vacation Bible
School and Sunday School.
Josie enjoyed painting and was an accomplished artist. She also enjoyed
genealogy.
Josie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be sadly missed.

Visitation will be from 4-7 PM EDT Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Frain
Mortuary in Winamac, IN.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM EDT Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Frain
Mortuary in Winamac, IN with Pastor Steve Gladding officiating.
Burial will take place at Reed Cemetery in Winamac, IN.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Winamac Church of the Nazarene.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.
