Obituary of James R. Shanklin, Sr.

James R. Shanklin, Sr., 86, of Logansport, IN passed away at 10:40 PM Saturday, May 16, 2020 at home with his wife, Wanda, by his side.  James and Wanda were together 30 years. James was born on July 17, 1933 in Lafayette, IN to the late Russell James and Bernice Sue Nosko Shanklin.  After graduating from high school in Chicago, James attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.  He enlisted in the US Air Force, served two years, and was discharged to the Air Force Reserves.  He was a member of the American Legion and VFW.  James was retired from The Manistee Drop Forge Co. in Manistee, MI where he worked as a tool and die maker.  He proudly taught his sons and stepsons how to work on cars.  James will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Private Burial will take place at a later date at Fountain Cemetery in Fountain, MI.
