John Ellsworth Wall, 77, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Winamac, IN, passed away October 23, 2019 in Advent Hospital, Ocala, FL. John was born on September 7, 1942 in Argos, IN to Edwin and Helen Biddle Wall. He married Phyllis Podell Knarr on May 15, 1971 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, IN. John graduated from Winamac High School in 1961. He attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala, FL. While residing in Winamac, John and his family developed the Rising Sun Campground in Monterey, IN. John and his family moved to Ocala FL in 1981.

John was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Lockheed Martin Co after twenty years of service as an electronics assembler for the Pershing missile and the Patriot and Night Lantern Projects. John was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. John Lutheran Church Choir and Men’s group. John enjoyed traveling, fishing, playing cards and spending time with family.

John is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Phyllis of Ocala, FL

4 great-grandchildren

Christian Burial Services for John were held on October 28, 2019 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Joe Signore III officiating. Cremation followed.

Graveside Services will be held at 3:30 PM EDT on Monday, August 3, 2020 at the Winamac Cemetery in Winamac, IN with Pastor Tom Woodley of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac officiating.  The VFW and the American Legion will conduct Military Graveside Services. Burial will follow.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Luke Lutheran Church.
