Obituary of Irene Marie Mitchell

Irene Marie Mitchell, 89, of Winamac, IN passed away at 7:27 PM Saturday, March 20, 2021surrounded by her family at her home in Winamac. Irene was born on November 21, 1931 to the late Frank and Martha Pucka Pletka.

On December 24, 1949 she married Raymond A.  ”Bud” Mitchell in Winamac, IN. He died August 12, 2009.

Irene was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac.

Irene was a hard working farm wife, loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She had also worked at the former Eaton Corporation in Winamac. Irene loved working in her garden and watching her hummingbirds. Irene was a great cook and enjoyed fishing with Bud.  She also loved doing puzzles. Irene loved her family and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be from 3-8 PM EDT Thursday, March 25, 2021at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM EDT on Friday, March 26, 2021 at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac, IN with Pastor Tom Woodley officiating.

Burial will take place at Independence Cemetery in Medaryville, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac.
