Obituary of Harold G. Harper

Harold G. Harper, 88, of Chesterfield, SC (formerly of Star City, IN and Longville, MN) passed away on June 2, 2022 at the Rehabilitation Center of Cheraw in Cheraw, SC.  He was born on December 3, 1933 in Star City to the late George A. and Dowana E. [McFarland] Harper.  Harold was a 1951 graduate of Star City High School.  On March 1, 1953, Harold married Donna G. Barker in Winamac, IN.  She passed away on December 17, 2014.   

Harold was a member of the Star City United Methodist Church, Star City Volunteer Fire Department, and Star City Lions Club.  He served on the Pulaski County Ambulance Board and Pulaski Developmental Services Board.   Harold retired as a supervisor from Kains Motor Service in Logansport, IN. 

Harold served as the Water Quality Chairman of Wabedo, Little Boy, Inguadona, Cooper, and Rice Lakes Association.  He was on the steering committee for both the Tri-County Leech Lake Water Shed Project and the Mid Boy River Project.

Harold loved his family very much and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 10-11 AM EDT Friday, June 10, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM EDT Friday, June 10, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN with Rev. David Sommers officiating.

Burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Star City United Methodist Church.
