Farewell George, the world was a better place with you in it.
George was always one of those people who made you feel solid and well grounded when you'd spend time around him. He always seemed to know what he was about, and family always came first. Family was always much more than blood kin though, it very much extended into the community around him. I like to think that rubbed off on me some, and that I've carried it with me through life.
I have many very fond memories of George, though a couple stand out as reflecting his nature as I knew him. I remember when I was at one of my first jobs while attending college, barely scraping by, when the clutch on my car started to give out. George volunteered to replace it himself, and got it working perfectly shortly thereafter. When asked about payment, he just said "buy me a case of beer", and that was it. On a separate occasion he invited me to go fishing with him. I told him I knew nothing about fishing, and he said "no problem, I'll teach you". I caught a pretty good sized bass, and landed it - "I" is pretty generous in this case because I was simply following instructions to a T. When we got back to tell the fishing stories he was bragging to everyone about how I caught the "big one".
I count myself lucky to have known him.
Kelly Moore - friend of the family from what now seems like the distant past.

Our prayers are with you family members as you grieve the loss of both parents (now). George was a man who will be missed for the work ethic he had and the attitude of helpfulness for others he displayed.
Give us some way of assisting you in the days and years ahead.
