Obituary of Shelby J. Moise

Shelby J. Moise, 79, of Rochester, IN (formerly of Winamac, IN) passed away Sunday, August 14, 2022 at Hickory Creek in Rochester.  She was born on October 3, 1942 in Hazard, KY to the late Floyd and Maggie [Hurt] Hale.  Shelby’s family moved to North Judson, IN in her youth.  On November 28, 1964, she married George R. Moise at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac.  He passed away on November 11, 2012. 

Shelby worked most of her life as a waitress.  She met George while working behind the fountain counter at Stombaugh’s Drug Store.  She also worked at local classics like Fogarty’s, Wigwam, Colonial Inn, and Indian Head. 

Shelby was a member of the Pulaski Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed going for walks, visiting with friends, going out for coffee, and doing puzzles.  Shelby will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hickory Creek in Rochester for their tender loving care of Shelby.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 5:00 PM EDT Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM EDT Monday, August 22, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN Rev. David Broad officiating. 

Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Winamac, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pulaski Animal Center.
