Lula Maude “Lulu” Hall Lounsbery, 97, of Granger, IN (formerly of Niles, MI, Cape Coral, FL, and Winamac, IN) went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 4, 2022.  She passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.  Lula was born on July 6, 1925 at Bass Lake, IN to the late Harry Leslie and Nora Elizabeth [Melvin] Bailey.  She graduated from Knox High School in Knox, IN. 

On February 17, 1945, Lula married Rev. Larsene C. Hall.  Lula and Larsene were founding members of the First Baptist Church in Winamac.  Together, they pastored the church for 31 ½ years; leading many souls to Christ.  She was a devoted pastor’s wife and loving mother to her daughter, Carol.  Larsene passed away on November 22, 1990. 

On July 14, 1992, Lula married George N. Lounsberry.  They spent their retirement years in Cape Carol enjoying life to the fullest in sunny Southwest Florida.  After George passed away on September 28, 2003, Lula moved to Niles to live with her daughter.  She enjoyed over 20 years of time well spent with her family.

Lula enjoyed babysitting her great granddaughter, Marielle and enjoyed gardening.  She was a member of the Mishawaka Garden Club and the Red Hat Society.  Lula was an Indiana University Basketball/Bobby Knight Fan as well as a Tampa Bay Buccaneers/Tom Brady Fan. 

Lula will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be from 12 Noon – 1 PM EST Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM EST Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac, IN with Rev. David Broad officiating.

Burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (Southlawn Addition) in Winamac, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Memorial Swinging Bridge Project, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
