Obituary of Kathleen J. Manion

Kathleen June [Honegger] Manion, age 84, formerly of Monticello, Indiana passed away on April 27, 2023, at Taylor Springs Health Campus in Gahanna, Ohio.  Kathy was born on April 10, 1939, in Francesville, Indiana to Herman and Ida [Quasebarth] Honegger. During her childhood, Kathy enjoyed spending time with her parents and her three brothers and sister on their family farm. Kathy graduated from Francesville High School in 1957, and she married former high school sweetheart Fred Aldon Manion in 1958. They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Fred’s passing in 2019. Kathy and Fred lived most of their lives in Monticello. They attended St. James Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville.

Kathy was a homemaker and gave birth to three sons: Fred, Kurt, and Brad. Kathy and Fred enjoyed traveling with their sons to many national parks during their marriage, and Kathy was a devoted mother and grandmother. In later life, Kathy and Fred enjoyed traveling to Alaska and Hawaii with friends and on fishing trips with their adult children.

Graveside Services will be held at 2 PM EDT Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, IN with Rev. Nelda Seger officiating. 

Burial will take place at Roseland Cemetery in Francesville, IN.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. James Salem United Church of Christ.
