Lois J. Conley, 92, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023 at her daughter and daughter-in laws home in Indianapolis, IN.  She was born on July 14, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Edward and Mabel [Malchow] Zimmerman. Throughout her life lived in Chicago, Medaryville and Winamac. On December 22, 1956 Lois married the love of her life and best friend Charles L. Conley. In 1965 they adopted their only child Barbara Jean. Charles sadly passed away on May 19, 1973 in a work accident.

Lois enjoyed sewing and cooking, watching action movies and was an avid John Wayne fan. Her pets were always near and dear to her. She owned Lois’ Place Tavern in Medaryville, she also worked many years at Federal Mogul in Leiters Ford running the molder. She was a lifelong Coca-Cola fan. Lois was a strong and devoted mother, feisty and fun Grammy (grandmother), and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

 

She is survived by:

Barb (Tish) Conley, Indianapolis, IN Daughter

7 Grandchildren: Kellie, Joel (Danielle), Graham, Milo, Gray, Mary (Matt), and Allison

4 Great Grandchildren: Avien, GraceLynn , David, and Olivia

Several Nieces and Nephews

Edward and Mabel B. [Malchow] Zimmerman, Parents

Charles L. Conley, Husband

Wesley G. Zimmerman, Brother

Rose Marie West, Sister

 

Private Graveside Services will be held at White Post Cemetery in Medaryville, IN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville.
