Obituary of Harold L. Smith
Harold L. Smith, 85, of Winamac, IN moved to his home in Heaven on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was welcomed into the Kingdom by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 6:38 PM. Harold came into this world on November 16, 1935. He was born in Lawton, IN to the late Harvey L. and Lillian M. [Olson] Smith. As a teen, he gave his life to the Lord and was baptized at Lawton Christian Church. Harold was a 1954 graduate of Monterey High School in Monterey, IN. He served two years in the US Army. Harold earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Olivet University and a Master’s Degree from Indiana University. On October 20, 1956, he married the love of his life, Josie M. Jarvis. She passed away on October 8, 2016. Harold was an inspirational teacher who touched the lives of so many students over the years. His teaching career spanned 35 years at Winamac Elementary School. Harold lived by example and encouraged others to always do their best. “Good, better, best; never let it rest, until your good is better and your better is best.”

Visitation will be from 2-6 PM EDT Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Monday, November 1, 2021 at Frain Mortuary in Winamac with Pastor Steve Gladding officiating.
Burial will take place at Reed Cemetery in Winamac. The American Legion and VFW will conduct Military Graveside Services.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Winamac Church of the Nazarene.
